The transportation services industry encompasses a broad range of organizations that manage the movement of people and products. Whether the destination is within a state, is national or international, this transportation can be achieved by road, rail, air or sea.
Driven by customer service and the logistical mechanisms of time, cost, capacity and capability, these organizations strive to provide products and services to their client base in the most efficient and effective manner to optimize productivity, competitiveness and quality of service.
While technological, procedural, policy and process improvements contribute, the key to success is the professional development of staff. The most cost effective method of training staff is through the use of Technology Based Training (TBT).
MMCLD has accumulated significant experience in supporting the transportation services industry having developed Premium Technology Based Training (PTBT) in areas such as:
- Organizational Induction
- Sales Training
- Change Management
- Compliance (Occupational Health and Safety)
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems (Implementation Training/Performance Support) focusing on areas such as Logistics Management systems
MMCLD Premium Technology Based Training – Representative Case Study
MMCLD developed customized performance support tools for a major public airline. These tools provided Just-In-Time learning for staff requiring an understanding of the danger presented by loose articles around aircraft hangers and on the runway.
One of the training programs covered a range of scenarios from a mechanic leaving an object near an engine intake through to someone spotting a foreign object on the runway. The financial and safety consequences of such breaches are significant and were to be avoided at all costs.
MMCLD designed this courseware by working closely with the organization and translating their real-life case studies/scenarios into animated storylines.
The client was seeking an organization that could provide the flexibility required to achieve their objectives while being able to capture the serious nature of the topics in a visually engaging manner. MMCLD more than satisfied its requirements.
